I built this Speech Synthesis kit when I was a kid. It sort of worked - it made vowel-like sounds. It was quite fun.
Here's a speech synthesizer singing, "Daisy, Daisy", ala Hal 9000. I believe this bit of technology is actually what inspired that moment in the film 2001.
Computer voice (singing) synthesis very hot in Japan, like this one for last couple of months. I guess it is a little different from "voice synthesis" as it is using something called Frequency-domain Singing Articulation Splicing and Shaping, which based on real singer, but special technology of putting them together.
ReplyDeleteBTW, this is Hideki, just so you know :-)
